How do I know which speaker is right for my event?

What if a speaker cancels?
Cancellation policies are set between you and the speaker directly. We recommend discussing cancellation terms before confirming. ComedySpeaker.com is not responsible for cancellations, but we encourage speakers to maintain professional standards.
Can I leave a review even if the booking was not through the platform?
No — reviews on ComedySpeaker.com are tied to verified platform bookings to ensure authenticity. However, speakers can display testimonials they collect from any client, not just platform bookings.

How do I create a speaker profile?
Click "Join Free" at the top of the page and select "I'm a Speaker." Fill in your basic info and submit. Complete your profile with a photo, bio, comedy types, video reels, and fee information.
How long does profile approval take?
Our admin team typically reviews and approves profiles within 24–48 hours. Depending on admin settings, profiles may be approved automatically or require manual review.
Can I have a stage name different from my legal name?
Absolutely. During profile setup, enter your legal first and last name (required for account), then add your stage name in the Stage Name field. Your stage name will be displayed prominently on your public profile.
What kind of photos should I upload?
Use a professional headshot with good lighting. Minimum 400×400 pixels. Square format works best. Accepted file types: JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP. Maximum file size: 5MB.
Do I need to be a full-time comedian to join?
No. Whether comedy is your full-time career or one of several services you offer, you can create a profile. Just be honest about your experience level and let your reels speak for you.
What is the "speaker lead" feature?
If you know of a client or event that needs a comedy speaker, you can submit their contact info as a lead. ComedySpeaker.com follows up with the client and facilitates a booking. When the lead converts, you earn a commission — the split is set by the platform and is generally 50/50 between ComedySpeaker.com and the speaker who submitted the lead.
What is the commission split for leads?
The commission split is set by the platform admin. The standard arrangement is a 50/50 split — 50% to the speaker who posted the lead and 50% to ComedySpeaker.com. Commissions are paid via PayPal once the booking is completed.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, at any time from your dashboard. You retain access to your paid tier features until the end of your current billing period, then downgrade to free automatically.
What happens to my profile if I downgrade to free?
Your profile remains live. Videos beyond the free limit (1) will no longer display, and your social profile links will be hidden. Your priority score returns to the free tier level.
How do I appear higher in search results?
Key factors: (1) Upgrade to a higher plan for a better priority score, (2) Complete your profile 100%, (3) Add more and better videos, (4) Earn more reviews, (5) Use keyword-rich bio and topics.
Payments & Billing
How are payments handled?
Membership subscriptions are paid via PayPal. Booking fees between speakers and planners are handled directly between the parties — ComedySpeaker.com does not process the speaker's performance fee.
What credit cards are accepted?
Through PayPal, you can pay with all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover), PayPal balance, or linked bank account.
Is my payment information secure?
Yes. All payment processing is handled by PayPal, which uses industry-standard encryption and security measures. ComedySpeaker.com never stores your credit card details.
How are speaker lead commissions paid out?
Once a lead converts and the booking is completed, commissions are paid via PayPal. You must have a PayPal account to receive commission payments. Allow up to 14 business days after booking completion for payment processing.
What is the booking fee?
When a speaker confirms a booking originated through ComedySpeaker.com, a 10% booking fee is applied to the confirmed speaker fee. This fee is paid by the speaker. Event planners do not pay any fees.
